Scholarships

PROJECT CABO
The Community Alliance for Birth Options is the only program in Orange County whose primary mission is to educate the public about  non-interventive and out of hospital births, greatly improving the health of mothers and babies.  CABO continues to provide educational sessions along with a presence at local family events throughout Orange County, supporting women and families that are searching for alternative birthing options. Many of you that are reading this letter are either major supporters of CABO by participating in our events, volunteering your time, or graciously giving to the organization monetarily. Some of you may have received a Scholarship through CABO to fulfill your desired birth plan. The CABO Board of Directors is writing to ask you to help us  adequately fund our 2012 Scholarship program so that we can fund the many women throughout California requesting assistance…

How can you help? …you can log on to https://www.charitableventuresoc.org/donate/donate.asp to make a donation to Community Alliance for Birth Options.

CABO is dedicated to helping women in our community. Each member of Community Alliance for Birth Options supports and believes in the Mission Project CABO advances. The CABO Scholarship is designed to financially assist expecting women who have shown an interest in delivering their babies in a natural environment, including the use of a Midwife, Birth Center or Doula, but are unable to fulfill the birth plan due to financial hardship or lack of insurance coverage.

These scholarships are funded by private donations, from ordinary people who believe in the benefits of natural childbirth and supportive prenatal care. In addition, proceeds raised at all CABO events are donated to the CABO Scholarship program. The CABO Scholarships is awarded on a monthly basis. Recipients will be chosen based on a set of criteria outlined in the application in which their identities and the amount of the awards will be kept confidential.

We currently are receiving applications from all over the state of California. Our scholarship funds are limited due to the high volume of applicants and we regretfully can only grant scholarships to those who meet all of the scholarship criteria.
